David Dickinson has a vast range of experience in classical music and Art Songs. While attending Westminster Choir College, in Princeton, NJ, David was in various performances including Gian Carlo Menotti’s ‘Amahl and the Night Visitors’ as The Page, and Wagner’s ‘Parsifal’ in the Spoleto Festival, Charleston, SC. under the direction of the late Gian Carlo Menotti. He has also performed in the famous Westminster Symphonic Choir at Lincoln Center, Carnegie Hall and the Philadelphia Academy of Music with Maestros Dr. Joseph Flummerfelt, Riccardo Muti, Zubin Mehta, Robert Shaw, Kurt Masur and many others.
(One of the performances was a LIVE television performance of Mozart’s Requiem and Petrassi’s Coro di Morti under the direction of Riccardo Muti, and featuring soloists the late Arleen Auger, soprano; Susanne Mentzer, mezzo-soprano; Jozef Kundlak, tenor and Simon Estes, bass-baritone.)
David has also been a member of various auditioned choirs such as Westminster Singers, Rogue Valley Chorale, Southern Oregon Repertory Singers, and the Eugene Vocal Arts Ensemble. He studied under Professors Ellen Lang and Elem Eley.
He made his opera debut in the Rogue Valley Opera in Rossini’s La Cenerentola (Cinderella) as Dandini, and performed at the Hult Center with the Eugene Opera as Sciarrone in Tosca.
For the last 21 years, he has soloed in churches in Washington and Oregon. At the request of the churches, he has recorded and released a CD (How Beautiful Upon the Mountains) that has been purchased nationally and internationally.
David now resides in South Colby, WA. with his wife Christina and their two children, Nathan and Annemarie. He is a regular soloist at his church in Gig Harbor, WA.

Voice lessons will teach you the fundamentals of singing, breath control, posture, theory, pitch identification and control, and sight singing skills. These are the basics to ANY style of music you wish to learn. Country singer Trace Adkins was an opera singer before he made his first country CD. Country singer Gary Morris also has performed in classical operas around the country. Opera singer Renée Fleming recently released an indie-rock CD and it hit the Billboard Top 200 chart! A lot is to be said with learning the basics and technical aspects of professional singing.
Vocal coaching will teach you advanced techniques of singing, stage presence, tips to alleviate stage fright, phrasing, musical interpretation as well as singers diction in Latin, Italian, German and English. You may choose a musical piece of your style to learn as well and we’ll work together to exceed the results you are searching for.
All students should be expected to prepare for recitals. Don’t worry! It’ll be FUN!
